Trail has been GREATLY improved since last ride reports in '20
Group of 2 rode the entire trail NE bound mid March. Since the last trip report on here, iron bridges have been put across 3 of the biggest creek portages (including Big Blowout Creek at Bessemer~where a previous report mentioned the landslide). You still have 2 deep creek portages on the first section on the way to Bessemer Road. Note: there ARE 3 new iron bridges prepo'd for install just beyond the Mount Si DNR Gate next to the new singletrack they just machine cut (so more improvement is still planned/hopefully govt cut impacts do not affect). CCC all the way through to the Middle Fork had been sawed as of our ride date (kudos whomever the manager/crews are~the December windstorms caused so much damage this year, so the clearing was recent). Also, it had been obviously bushed/weed cut all the way to Bess since the last time I rode it last year. Last section from MF Rd to the USFS Campground had two recent trees downed on it, but easy to carry across. They had also done work to their wooden bridges on that section in the last six months or so.
Trail is in the best shape I have seen it since my first rides on it in ~2020/2021. Ridden on AM, XC, and gravel bikes. Most fun is XC, but more than doable on all.
Future trail note: there ARE plans/work afoot for new single track/non logging road access from the Mount Si Rd area out to the CCC Trail proper. Work has been occurring for 2 (?) years and they seem to be near opening. Work on it is current/recent.
