South Sound

The South Sound Chapter launched in January 2026 as Evergreen's tenth chapter, created to give Pierce County's riding community the dedicated local support it had earned.

For years, trail projects across the South Sound were led through the Cascades to Sound Chapter. That work grew, and kept growing. More trail projects, more volunteer leaders, more land manager partnerships. Eventually the region needed its own chapter to match its ambition.

Today we support trails at Tehaleh, Swan Creek, the 410 Corridor, Wards Lake, Dash Point, Eatonville, and Ashford, with more projects developing as our partnerships and capacity expand. We operate with the full backing of Evergreen's statewide staff and volunteer network while staying focused on what Pierce County riders and trails specifically need.
