Last Pretty Day Before First Storm of Fall 2021
Spent the afternoon climbing to the top of the trail and enjoyed the colorful fall colors in the Baldy Meadow. The last time I was here was when I reported the avalanche debris down the Meadow drainage at the end of May. Now the trail is all clear with a couple little erosion issues but nothing major. It is still a wonderous trail for views of the Skykomish River Valley and a very exciting descent once you get your rhythm and speed control in sync. The trail is in great shape and the views were great. After the Storm comes through, give it a day or two to relax and absorb the water and hero dirt and views should be available for you. My pictures and GPS track are here.
Also this weekend, I did a wonderful gravel ride loop from Index to Jack Pass to Skykomish and back on Highway 2 here.
