Nice to get out and ride a little. Conditions are good.

The road to Freund is posted at 25mph. My friends that live there routinely see us mountain bikers blowing by their house going waaay over that. So does the sheriff's deputy that lives there.

I got other friends who live on the road to Ski Hill. Same story.

Sadly, I have another friend whose 9 year old daughter was run over and killed, while riding her bike, by an out-of-towner driving too fast, on the Icicle Road.

I understand the Need For Speed. Dirt Bikes, Crotch Rockets, Hot Rods. Lost my license three different times. "Repeat Offender", proclaimed the judge. Thankfully the only person injured was me. Some of my buddies weren't so lucky.

Now I go as fast as I want, legally, on trails made for that exact purpose. Cool!

Then I drive back home at the speed limit. No flash of adrenaline when I see the Stater. Sweet!

We all get to drive because we agree to follow the rules. It's in the fine print. Trust me, the judge said so ;-)

Speeders, you're pissing off the locals. If you're belligerent and defiant like I was, I don't care.

Act like a kid on the trail.
