Every year mountain bikers flood to Gerk’s in Issaquah for the Annual Evergreen Winter Stoke. Fueled by a burning desire for camaraderie, beer, and epic mountain biking artistry, they flood through the doors and eagerly await the Dirt Junkie Photo and Video Contest—because they know that fame, fortune, and community worship await the winners (or a beer and a pat on the back).

Flowing through the open green forest and chock-full of progressive features designed for all levels of riding, this month’s Trail Highlight is located on land owned by Pope Resources, a community-focused entity that works closely with Evergreen West Sound.  Learn more about riding “Derailed” in this month’s Trail Highlight! After the original trail was accidentally destroyed in a forest thinning process, Derailed rose from the metaphorical ashes as a brand new flow trail designed and built by Greg Priest, with support from members of Evergreen West Sound.

A huge THANK YOU is in order for those who attended the WWRC/Evergreen lobby day in Olympia last Thursday.   We can't express enough appreciation for your enthusiasm, your generous donation of time, and for making the drive  to the Capitol for Evergreen. While this isn’t a budget session and we aren’t holding our own Legislative Day again until 2017, our continued presence in Olympia illustrates the growing demand for mountain biking recreation in Washington. Thank you for furthering that message!
