Growing Faster This Year

After yesterday’s convergence zone soaked us up in Everett, I figured I could go a bit South to Duvall and ride around Cherry Valley in drier conditions. There were wet roots and soggy foliage to ride through but the dirt was hero and well drained. You could grab a handful of front brake and not have to worry at all. The foliage is growing really fast this year! Almost as if it had been fertilized! Many trails will need some help so grab a branch or two as you climb or as you descend if safe enough. Saw three deer this morning which is always a treat. The only problems today were on Funner and Outer Limits. Near the bottom of Funner,  I jumped too high off the final rock feature and a low hanging branch clotheslined my helmet go pro. Luckily no damage or crash. I went back and removed the tree/branch at the end of the ride. On the descent down Outer Limits, there were four separate locations where single large branches were stabbed vertically into the trail (wind damage debris that speared the trail!) . I had to stop for each and pull those out. The funny part here was the first one… I didn’t see it was in the dirt deep and tried to push it aside as I rode through and it showed me who was boss and stopped me dead.  lol   Needless to say, I approached the other three branch obstructions much more cautiously ;-). I was pretty wet today from wiping the foliage off but this week will be awesome for you as the weather improves. The Trailforks Ride Log and picture is here.
