Another Long Descent

24 | Aug | '24

I started my ride this morning at around 7:30 at the North Fork 25 Mile Creek Trailhead (2400’). From there, I rode up Shady Pass Road to the Crescent Hill Trailhead (6560’). Of course, I had to stop at the Junior Point Overlook for the report image above viewing the Chesapeake Saddle I had just ridden. Then I entered the Devil’s Backbone trail. The trail initially climbs about 160’ of vertical to get to the junction  for the Lone Peak trail and then the North Fork 25 Mile Creek trail. The upper two thirds of the descent was a whole lot of fun over rock/dirt and minimal sand. But after that, Moto ruts dug out in the sandier lower third made landing some of the flow features a bit dicey.  The flat, sandy, and chewed up switchbacks were a little frustrating also. However, getting 4500’ of descending in was just what I needed today.  I was hoping to get a good shot of Glacier Peak but today's rainy weather clouded the mountain. The Trailforks Ride Log and pictures taken are located here
