Stunning views, but needs work
Just an update to what others have reported. This is a lovely, moderate trail that needs a bunch of work to become the gem that we all wish it could be. The good news is that although it is overgrown in a lot of places, there are no carniverous blackberry vines to strip your flesh from your bones. I did a counterclockwise loop, and I do not know if that was good or bad, right or wrong. It was tough going uphill, not too steep but a lot of rocks. Instead of the constant roots encountered on Tiger Mountain, this trail has rocks. It is also exposed to the sun...I normally wear clear eye protection but I was glad I had my sunglasses here. Higher up, there is a beautiful stretch of trail that runs along the ridge, with tremendous views. Parts of the trail that are near streams are severly overgrown, and you'll be picking shrubs out of your teeth. The downhill section (which would be the uphill for the clockwise folks) was plagued with loose scree, which desperately needed a massive pounding to mold it into a useable trail. It is unrideable going uphill. The final section is an old road, which afforded a 30mph descent to the parking area. Whee! Fun to do once, but man this trail needs a massive work party.
