Early morning ride out to the lake and back. Rode the CW loop (out on the "upper" trail, back on the "lower"). Rocky in the usual places. Sand was generally firm. The dirt was in great shape, with just a bit of moisture from the recent rains. Plenty of bear scat, but no bears to be seen. No shooters at the gravel pit. I think all of the NFS signs finally scared them off. Hot weather tip: If you start rolling before 8 AM, you're mostly in shade all the way to the lake.
