Crank Sisters-Ride the Regions-Winthrop!
To 07/16/2023
This ride is for anyone who identifies as female.
Crank Sisters-Ride the Regions-is going to Winthrop! (Methow Region)
Similar to last Fall, join us for a fun weekend of riding & camping. There are lots of trails in the area; we'll make a plan each day based on who's there & what they want to ride (Intermediate trails & pace). This will be a super-chill weekend, but please be ready for some trails with sustained climbing & limited exit points. There also may be opportunities to shuttle. Feel free to come for one day or the whole weekend. If you bring a spouse, there may be an opportunity for them to join us for one of the rides (even if they don't identify as female). Here are some of the local trails:
- Buck Mountain: https://www.evergreenmtb.org/trails/buck-mtn
- Rendezvous Basin: https://www.evergreenmtb.org/trails/rendezvous-basin
- Sun Mountain Trails: https://www.evergreenmtb.org/trails/sun-mtn
- Virginian Ridge: https://www.evergreenmtb.org/trails/virginian-ridge
- Winthrop-Mazama Community Trail: https://www.evergreenmtb.org/trails/winthrop-to-mazama-methow-community-trail
Friday-Plan is evolving...some of us will leave Seattle Friday & maybe ride Friday if there's time. Optional camping available at a Crank Sister's property in the Sun Mountain Ranch area (thanks Leslie!). We will have access to a tiny cabin with a kitchen & bathroom; also keycard access to showers. Please plan to camp in your van/car or tent (or feel free to find your own camping/hotel/airbnb, etc). Please bring food for yourself, although we might also eat out in town. Did we mention FLEXIBILITY & FUN are part of the plan?
Saturday-Ride! We'll decide when & where to ride based on who's there & what they feel like doing. Last Fall our Saturday ride was Buck Mountain. Potential dinner in town (about 15 minutes away)
Sunday-More ride options, then head home! Last Fall, our Sunday ride was in the Sun Mountain area. More good food & fun. Crank Sisters Rock :)
After you RSVP for the ride, please text to let me know your camping/accommocations setup & arrival/departure plan.

Crank Sisters-Ride the Regions 2023
Evergreen has 8 chapter regions in WA. Crank Sisters, based in our local Cascade to Sound chapter, is going to try to ride in every region in 2023.
Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance Chapter Regions
- Cascade to Sound (Greater Seattle, including King, Snohomish & Pierce Counties)
- Central (Greater Wenatchee Valley, from Leavenworth to Chelan)
- Cowlitz-Naches (SW WA Cascades, including Gifford Pinchot & Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forests)
- East (Eastern WA, including Spokane)-->Scheduled for July 21-23
- Kittitas (Kittitas Valley, including Cle Elum)
- Methow (Methow Valley, including Winthrop)-->Scheduled for July 14-16, 2023
- Southwest (SW WA, including Battleground & Camas)
- West Sound (West of Puget Sound, including Bremerton & Port Gamble)-->DONE! Evergreen MTB Festival in Port Gamble, June 9-11, 2023
Some rides may be one-day, and others may involve a weekend camping & exploring as we navigate our way around using Trailforks. We’ll try to join our fellow chapters’ long-standing annual events (like the Evergreen Mountain Bike Festival in Port Gamble in June, Kettle Fest in North Central WA in July & Naches Fest in South Central WA in Sept). We’ll also try to connect with local riders who may want to share some of their best-kept secret trails.
So, keep your eyes on the Evergreen Calendar to sign up as Crank Sisters Ride the Regions!
