Willows Fjords
Info
Short-but-challenging twisty singletrack in the dense woods just west of Willows Road in Redmond. Steep ups'n'downs make it too difficult for most riders, but for those who live or work nearby, it's a great workout. Connects to the Sammamish River Trail and Puget Power Trail. Can get swampy in the winter and overgrown with nettles in the summer.
Tech rating is high due to roots, sharp turns and steeps, but those sections are easy to walk around. Grunt rating is medium because there are no long climbs, however, the many short steep climbs will get your heart pumping. Not recommended for beginners.
The net elevation distance is only a couple hundred feet, but you can easily combine for over 1k on all the fierce little climbs.

The entrance to the trail behind the former Pro Training Center has had a "Trail Closed" sign up for months. I assumed it was because of the new building construction and the cranes that have been at the site. We went to ride the 11/14/2022 and the sign is still up.
The trail would be pretty fun if the nettles weren't there. It would be great to get a work party going for this.

After crossing the street make a right on Willows. Keep riding (about 2 blocks) until you see a large powerline tower on your left situated jus...
Had never been out here before, and had fairly low expectations. Glad to report I was pleasantly surprised! I was in the area for work and had a few hours to kill, so brought my bike (6x6 enduro), shoes, and helmet - no gloves, shin guards (big risk with flat pedals), glasses, or pack...
The best switchback climbing practice near Seattle! Love this place. 1100 feet of climbing in 4.2 miles for the entrire loop. Met a friendly guy with a weed wacker clearing the trails and he's trying to get the word out more about this trail system. It's hard to find the trail access points, so I...
Had not been there in a while and it was better than I remembered. With a nice new bridge through the mud slog as well. Trails run mainly up and down gullies and ridge lines facing east/west and the area has only a few viable up ways without pushing. Great close in place for east siders to g...
