South Seatac (SST)
Info
South SeaTac (SST) is actually Des Moines Creek Park in the city of SeaTac. This is a great area to come ride! There are three main places you can ride, a BMX and dirt jump area, a cross country area, and a nice downhill area with tons of jumps.
Ride this maze of trails just south of the Seatac airport. Lots of fun riding through an area that long ago used to be a neighborhood. Plenty of winding trails to spin around on and the low flying jets keep things interesting. Trails exist on both the east and west side of the SCORE jail access road. It's fairly flat and beginner-friendly on the east side of the access road; west side trails have are more advanced with more hills, berms and jumps. West side trails are accessible through gates in the chain link fence along the jail access road.
The trails have been informally approved by the land manager. There are long term plans to turn the whole place into a golf course.

Decided to beat the traffic to pick up a friend at Seatac Airport (5pm pick up on a Friday!). Was trying to decide SST or NST. I did SST first. Unfortunately the bushes were super overgrown. It's clear it's been a while since these were maintained. And none of the trails matched what was in Trail...
It was sad to see how overgrown and neglected these trails have become. There were lots of blackberry vines, scotch broom, and tall grass encroaching on the trails and several large downed trees completely blocking the way.
First trip to South Seatac park today, to check it out and try out my new tubeless tire setup. I think I'm glad I went tubeless on this ride, because I had a lot of thorns stuck in my tires (and in my arms!) when I got home.
The trails are much more overgrown than North Seatac, some with...
Possibly the last fine day of summer, trails were dry and fast, though the blackberry bushes are starting to close in on some trails. Construction closure signs are posted at all the trail entrances, to be closed after September 26th.
Rode it on a beautiful Saturday in February. There are a lot of leaves scattered about which makes some spots slippery. There is ongoing work on the trails west of 18th Ave in the area near the cemetary but further south it starts to be overgrown (although winter limits the effect). The sou...
Since I-90 was closed for the Blue Angels I did South Sea Tac until the traffic was gone. Went on all the trails I could find and then down to the beach. Due to the numbers of stickers around the trails, one got my tube so I needed a pit stop to patch it before I went down to the beach for dinner...
Hey guys!
Just another update, a few riders and I have put in some new jumps out here in the area West of SCORE access road. We brought some life back into old features and the trials should be all clear to ride! There are still some issues with the ever persistent brush. Hopefully we can...

Did a few loops on east and mostly west side of SST. Although a week of rain and wind would put most trails in peril, the conditions were good today. Freeride is too much for me but looks like fun for those who spend time in the air. I'll keep this ride in my holster for a wet w...
