We descended a trail from cave be winery to the riverbed area below the gorge amphitheater. We then had to cross a large creek just below the amphitheater and continued on trail towards ancient lakes. It was flat with tons of wildflowers and bloom. We turned into the into lakes and where reworded with amazing views of rocky buttes,  turquoise lakes and waterfalls.  We decided to ride the road back to the amphitheater instead of the trail back. In hindsight this added many miles on flat pavement and farm roads that we could have avoided. If doing from the gorge would suggest going back the same way you came.
