It appears the FS has contractors working their way down the LD, so between the upper parking lot and half way to the 3 O'Clock connector it's in good shape... but from there to the connector there are about a dozen trees down, many quite large, as well as a considerable washout that may have happened winter of 14/15.  Plan on an extra half hour negotiating these obstacles.  Didn't ride the lower half of the LD, road climb to 3 O'Clock Ridge is the way to go if you're planning the up LD down GC counter-clockwise loop.
