summer in April
Road is in great shape and only 2 or 3 miles of gravel and even this was easy 3rd/4th gear stuff. Trail is in great shape for the 1st 4 miles only one or two step over trees across the trail. But by mile 6 more and more trees down and lack of basic maintenance was making this a push and carry rather than a ride. I turned around at 6.5 miles.
This is a beautiful old growth forest ride-I mean the entire ride is in old growth, not just a pocket here and there. Lots of places near the river to stop and the first 3 or 4 miles are well suited for strong beginner type riders. It's a long way to drive for 13 miles of riding but this ride affects me every time. Next time I want to ride it on a cloudy day - after all, it IS a rain forest...
