General
This is a small segment of the Pacific Northwest Trail from Alger, WA up to, and through, the Squires Lake Park. It is a fire road to Alger Mountain and a continuation road into the park for single track to create the 5 mile long segment. A round trip back to the car can be done by trail or along old highway 99.
Typical soils fairly well drained.

Alger Bar and Grill provides good food and drink.
South End: Take exit 240 off of I-5 and head east to the Alger 4-way stop. Head east another couple hundred yards east to the open shoulder near the guard rail.
North End: Take exit 242 off of I-5 and head east to the Squires Lake Park trailhead parking lot.
From the South, you begin on a fire road for a mile and change and continue up the road to the peak or finally hit single track to go through the Squires Lake Park.
From the North, you begin a small switchback climb up to Squires Lake and the head South along the Ridgeline trail down to the peak and town of Alger.
