In 2017, in collaboration with Methow Trails, Evergreen took the lead to make Buck Mountain a USFS system trail. Working with USFS Methow Valley Ranger District, Buck Mountain underwent cultural and biological reviews in order to officially recognize this Methow Valley classic in the District's trail inventory. In addition, Evergreen advocated for the permitting of a new climbing segment, Buck Up, that replaced the existing dirt road climb. In the fall of 2018, this 3.1 mile addition was completed creating a nearly 13 mile singletrack loop.
