Overview

This is a COED ride at Capitol Forest to celebrate the start of the Spring Season! Join me for a moderately paced, steady climb up Wedekind, a traverse on Greenline Tie , and a fun downhill on Greenline. The birds will be chirping, new sprouts emerging, and maybe some trees blooming as we get a solid climb and fun descent down.  Riders should be comfortable on green and blue trails that have tech, flow, and optional jump features. If you have not been to Capitol Forest before or just want a change of scenery with friends, this will be a fun group ride with Spring vibes.

Expect wet features, softer dirt, and slick woodwork — we’ll ride at your pace. This is not a clinic and uphills will be moderate with regular stops. Downhill can be fast but we will regroup at each fireroad section.

IMPORTANT: Cap Forest is remote and the parking area will have ZERO cell service unless you have a beacon or satellite messaging. PLEASE text or call me by 730am if your plans change and cannot attend as I will not have service at the start of the trailhead. There is spotty reception throughout the trail and can find some spots with service. Please read through the parking lot instructions to get to the correct place in time.

Location & Parking

  • Trailhead: Fall Creek Parking Area *NOT THE CAMPGROUND* I suggest carpooling if you can. Lots of forest/gravel roads as you get closer to the trailhead. The fireroad leading to Fall Creek Trailhead is C6000.

    • Trailforks: Fall Creek Parking area, there is a bathroom, open gravel lot.
    • Cell service: there is ZERO reception at the trailhead. We will be rolling by 845am if anyone does not show up that signed up. There will be spotty reception throughout the trail and have service in varying spots. Bring any satellite/beacon devices if you would like.
  • Navigation Issues:  I will text you Friday on the exact pin at the Fall Creek Trailhead. Sometimes GPS factors in 'walking' on the trails and says it takes longer than it actually does. All forest roads are driveable and easy to navigate. Ex: I come from Tacoma and takes an hour. Sometimes it says 1 hour 45 min minutes but it has me walking when I will drive the last forest road

  • Directions: From Tacoma: I5 > US 101 > Black Lake Blvd SW > Delphi Rd SW > Waddell Creek Rd SW > Sherman Valley Rd SW > CLine/C6000 > Fall Creek Trailhead

  • Parking Pass: Discover Pass required
