Darrington Sawyer Work party
Hey Im hosting a work party doing saw work clearing corridor on some changes to showcase alternate.
Needs from voulteers, we will meet at the shuttle zone parking lot and go from there were hiking in pretty far with all the gear so be prepared for that
1) must be chainsaw certified ( if you show up with a saw and your not certed you will be told you can not attend )
2) Need to have all the PPE required to run a saw on DNR land ( hard hat, eye protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, ear protection, and boots)
3) saw and gear like files and sharpening tools, bar oil, saw gas,first aid kit. be prepared for a day of cutting
Saftey
All PPE and chainsaw rules must be followed and best practices as taught though the sawyer certification process
TICKS this time of year the ticks are going crazy and are all over the mountain ( gloves, long sleeves, pants, tick spray, tick baths and pills for dogs )
cell serivce is pretty good on this spot of the mountain
bring food and water be prepared
Overfew
were cutting corridor on a large reroute to showcase alternate. not much felling most small to meduim 10" to 24" loggs in a comercially thined section of forest so think of lots of spread out logging slash and lots of stump facing and Ill bring out a large brush cutter aswell
