Rat Pac Workparty

Let's get Rat Pac ready for riding!

The upper portion of Rat Pac is melted out enough to start working on. For this workparty we will focus on trail clearing, brushing and treadwork to improve drainage and rideability. The work is very straightforward and rewarding - we welcome anyone who wants to help - no prior trailwork experience needed! I plan to work for 3-4 hours and we are going to drive up to the ridge and work on the upper part of the trail. So if you want to leave early, you'll need to bring a bike and we can try to shuttle you up to the top where you can ride down. If you want to get a bike shuttle let me know (see my contact information below) and I'll try to get something sorted out.

Where to meet:

Meet at the big turnaround at the end of Alliance Rd. Put these coordinates into the Google to get there: 47.20756452430584, -120.97155526657585. Park in the circle but don't block the gate! We will drive to the top of the ridge and work down from there. I'll be there in a white SUV, wearing an Evergreen Hat and shirt.

What to bring:

• Loppers, hand saw, spring rake, your favorite trail tool, or just yourself! I'll round up extra tools to use if you don't have any, so don't let that stop you from joining. We can sort out who will bring what tool up to the trail before we head out so we are not all carrying a bunch of extra tools.
• Water, snacks, lunch.
• Dress in layers for the weather!

I plan to work even if it's raining.
