Crank Sisters Beginner-Mediate Ride, Tiger--shortened version
Evergreen Crank Sisters Beginner-mediate Ride, Tiger Mountain
This is a ladies-only ride. If you're done being a beginner, but you're not quite ready to tackle the black-diamond trails on Tiger, this is the ride for you! You don't need to be a fast climber or a fast descender--If you're game to climb for 45-60 minutes and spend a fun day with a bunch of rad ladies...if you've been wanting to try Tiger Mountain but you weren't sure how...come out and join us! We'll start the season with a shortened ride--we'll climb the road to the start of Preston Trail, then descend Preston and take the road to Northwest Timber. Plan to climb for about an hour, then spend 1-2 hours descending the intermediate trail. Preston is a fun, old-school cross country trail, mostly descending, with just enough rocks, roots, and tiny drops to keep it really interesting. As the season progresses, we'll work our way up to the summit on later rides.
Meet at the upper lot of Tiger Mountain at 10am: enter the DOT lot off Highway 18, take the first left on the fire road, and drive up to the lot on your right.
You will need a Discover Pass to park there; if you don't have one, park in the lower lot off HIghway 18 and ride up the road to meet us. (plan to get there 15 minutes early so you'll have time to find the upper lot.)
Starting time is 10:15. Please be on time—we cannot wait more than 10 minutes for late arrivers. If you sign up and decide not to come, PLEASE text me!
Ride leader contact info: Rachel Robinson, 425-736-2382
Trails: Preston, Northwest Timber
Conditions for cancellation: heavy wind, lightning, deep snow. We ride in the rain and cold!
If a ride must be cancelled, the ride leader will attempt to notify anyone signed up by 3 pm the day before.
Grunt rating: The climb is a grunt, but we'll take it slow, stop and rest whenever we feel like it, and make it a fun day. If you're a fast climber, you're welcome to come along and do laps while you wait for the slower climbers.
Crank Sisters have a no-drop policy. We will regroup often and adjust the pace based on riders' preference.
IMPORTANT: Please make sure your bike is in good working order before the ride. If you're not sure, have it checked by your bike mechanic. Flat pedals and elbow and knee armor are strongly recommended.
Bring lots of water (most riders like to have 3 liters), food, and a raincoat. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat tire.
