Teanaway Work Party and Community Celebration

Join DNR staff and partners to care for the Teanaway Community Forest. Volunteers will be installing picnic tables, maintaining fire rings, picking up litter and other restoration work. Volunteers can start at either 8 a.m., to join us installing picnic tables, or 10 a.m., for more family-friendly volunteer opportunies and general clean-up. Agency staff will be leading forest tours to provide opportunities to learn more about recreation, biology and restoration within the Teanaway Community Forest. After, join us for a BBQ celebration. 

 

8:30 a.m. Welcome and orientation

9 a.m. Volunteers will begin installing picnic tables

10 a.m. Volunteers will begin picking up litter, caring for fire rings and other family-friendly work

12 p.m. Break for lunch (Bring your own lunch) 

2 p.m. Join DNR and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife staff for forest tours

3 p.m. Barbeque celebration at Teanaway Campground

 

What to bring

Volunteers should bring a sack lunch, water, clothes appropriate for weather conditions, a piece of hunter's orange, work gloves and a chair for the celebration. Please register before April 28 at the link below.

 Directions

Meet at the Teanaway Campground. From I-90, take Exit 85 for WA-970 North toward Wenatchee. Go north to the intersection and turn right onto WA-10/WA-970. Continue on WA-970 for 6.5 miles and turn left onto Teanaway Road. Continue for 7.3 miles and turn left on West Fork Teanaway Road.  The campground is on your left in .7 miles. Get directions.
