Gold Hill Chewelah - Weekly Wednesday after-work trail work party - 6PM start
Help us develop mountain biking trails on Gold Hill this spring and summer! Every Saturday morning and Wednesday evening, we'll be working to develop new trails and maintaining the trails we've build in the last years...including our brand new "flow trail". Come out and help us build (and maintain) Eastern Washington's newest biking destination.
Background on Gold Hill Community Forest - Gold Hill is a 400 acre community forest recently acquired by the Chewelah Valley Land Trust (CVLT) located just north of Chewelah (the north side of the Golf & Country Club) in Stevens County. Trails are in the early stages of development, so there will be everything from brushing, digging, raking to develop new trails to brush trimming and vegetation management on existing ones.
CVLT & Evergreen will have some tools on-site to get this job done—but if you have a favorite trail-building tool (e.g. shovel, rake, Rogue hoe, McCleod, loppers, or similar), please bring those along. Gloves, sturdy shoes/boots and safety/sun glasses strongly recommended.
Background: Gold Hill (aka the Chewelah Community Forest) is an amazing 400 acre site with sweeping views of South Central Stevens County which recently acquired by the Chewelah Valley Land Trust (CVLT) who is working closely with the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance to develop a network of multi-user trails on this property.
