2017: The Cascadia Dirt Cup Strikes Out on its Own!

The Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance and the Cascadia Dirt Cup (“CDC) are pleased to announce the growth of the CDC from an Evergreen program into a multi-state Northwest racing organization!

Four years ago the CDC, guided by Trey Wilson, was adopted as a program within Evergreen to provide a Washington-based racing series that also focused on trail maintenance and stewardship.

Both Evergreen and the CDC experienced steady growth after teaming up. Evergreen continued to further its goals of stewardship and fostering the sport, and the CDC became an increasingly popular race series, contributing hundreds of hours and thousands of donation dollars to local trails every year.

With its continually increasing popularity, the CDC began expanding beyond the Washington border into Idaho and Oregon. For riders wondering about 2017 and beyond, this means the CDC will be highlighting new and equally exciting venues in completely new areas!

“The CDC has outgrown our State and needs to operate as an independent organization in the Pacific Northwest to reach its full potential” says Evergreen’s Executive Director Yvonne Kraus.  “We’re looking forward to seeing the CDC continue to grow, and will continue to collaborate on developing new race venues in Washington.”

“I’m very thankful to Evergreen for helping us get started and although we are branching out on our own, we will still work closely with Evergreen for continued success,” echoes race director Trey Wilson. “We’re eager to bring the same great racing experience to Idaho and Oregon as we expand outside of Washington.”

The new Cascadia Dirt Cup will begin operations on January 1, 2017, under the umbrella of Race Cascadia and there will be no change in registration or accessibility for participants.

After 4 years as a part of Evergreen, the Cascadia Dirt Cup has begun races in OR and ID and become its own organization!
