Five Stars for 5Point: Film Festival Fundraiser a Success
On Thursday, February 18th, Second Ascent gathered together 450 cyclists, climbers, skiers, and other outdoor adventurers to pack the Siff Uptown Cinema in Lower Queen Anne for an evening of 11 short films.
Dubbed the 5Point Film Festival, the event consisted of more than an evening of rad outdoor videos and beverages (as if you needed more)—it was also a fundraiser for the Northwest Avalanche Center, The American Alpine Club, and Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance.
Because there’s so much cross-over between our sports, Second Ascent (who will be getting a new space for their bike shop 2 doors down from the main Ballard location) invited Evergreen to participate for the first time ever—and we gladly accepted.
And the response was great! We let our members and followers know, and with beer and raffle ticket sales alone the event raised over $2,000—not bad for an evening spent watching movies!
Thanks to everyone in the community who came out to support Evergreen, to all the folks who stopped by our booth to learn a little more about biking in our state, and of course to the great people down at Second Ascent and SIFF for including us this year. We’ll be looking forward to 2017.
