Evergreen East at Spokatopia: A Great Community Day!
On July 9, Evergreen East, Spokane Parks and Recreation, and Out There Monthly coordinated the second annual Spokatopia Outdoor Festival located at Camp Sekani city park in Spokane.
This event gave people the opportunity to try a hand at several outdoor activities—mountain biking, paddleboarding, kayaking, rock climbing, and canoeing. With over 40 vendors Spokatopia also included local bike shops with bike demos from Specialized, Pivot, Yeti, Trek, Norco, Santa Cruz, and Ellsworth.
Evergreen East coordinated a beer garden showcasing six local breweries, a jump jam, and mountain bike shuttles. The mountain bike shuttles were a huge success and opened the door to many conversations with non-evergreen members and those just getting into the biking scene. In addition to the great karma from the event, Evergreen East made over $2,500 from donations and beer sales!
Thanks to everyone who attended and supported Evergreen East, and we’re looking forward to next year already!
