Personal GOAT and More Goats
Had a couple days of rain lately so the Butte Downhill was hero. Climbing to the summit was enjoyable looking at the layers of clouds above the lake and all the snowcapped ridge lines in the distance. The snow line was about 4000’ so the Butte was all clear. I’m guessing Mallory’s and the Outback over at Echo Ridge will be white today.
Up near the parasail launch site, I saw that family of Ram again and took a couple photos of them and then continued to the top. It was a little windy up there so I put the windbreaker back on in addition to the elbow and knee pads. The descent was wonderful in the sun and you couldn’t ask for better trail conditions. I achieved my personal best due to the soil and the gravel raking I did last week.
It’s always nice seeing the little achievement message to let you know just how well you did. What surprised me was that it earned me 6th on the all time leaderboard even though I got off my line a couple times. The Trailforks ride log and pictures are here. The helmet GoPro of the run is here.
