Where Has 'tomvale' Been?
I took the Levo to the Butte on Tuesday to get a ride in before there was too much snow. I tried to get to the top with my truck early to get a picture of the sunrise but the melt/freeze road conditions were too icy and I turned around and went and parked at the trailhead. With the Levo in trail mode, and the trail dry and frozen, I started up the trail and climbed what I could until I got to the heavier snow half way up the ridge line. It was a pretty day and descending half the trail was better than nothing today. GPS track and pictures are here.
It has been 11 weeks since my last report back in the beginning of August. I have been on an RV trip for 9 weeks and took the acoustic bike with me to enjoy the trails around the lower 48 states. The rides I was able to do on this trip were in the following areas:
Coeur d'Alene, ID at Canfield Mountain
Whitehall, MT at Lewis and Clark Caverns Cave trail
Crosby, MN at Cayuna Bike Park
Madison, WI at Quarry Ridge
Chicago, IL at Bullfrog Lake twice, Day1 and Day 2.
Pontiac, MI at Highland Rec. Area
Pontiac, MI at Pontiac Lake State Park
Mount Gretna, PA at Governor Dick
Columbia, SC at the Harbison State Forest
Palm Coast, FL at the Graham Swamp
Tuscaloosa, AL at Lake Lurleen State Park twice, Day 1 and Day 2.
BENTONVILLE, AR at Coler Mountain, Gaia GPS link, Trailforks Ride Log.
Evanston, WY at Bear River State Park and the Trailforks Ride Log.
Arco, ID at Crators of the Moon National Monument (hiking only, no bike trails)
This place was awesome for you volcano enthusiasts!
It was a wonderful trip and the truck/trailer did 10,500 miles.
