Got my new truck Saturday and needed to take it out for a simple off road spin to make sure I got what I paid for. I drove it to the upper lot, parked, and did two loops up to the Lookout. The loop starts down Out of the Blue, then on to Hoot Owl, back up to the upper lot to climb to the top again. That loop is quick to do, has good tech challenges, and the peak views I enjoy. The trail conditions were great since it is pretty shaded but is dry in some places too. Smoke was in abundance between 2000' and 4000' so the views were a little hazy but still pretty. The truck is wonderful and now I don't need to worry about roads/potholes that my ol' Subaru Legacy had troubles with. GPS track and pics are here.
