Another great local option
First time out here. Perfect weather, but had only 2 hours to spare, so I didn't make it to the lollipop loop. Overall, I'm very impressed with the quality of the build - getting back to the car with a clean bike after 2 hours of riding in late October says a lot about the drainage and tread stability.
The lower trail is not too interesting, to be honest; aside from a couple respectable views, it's analogous to NW Timber. The next section of trail is a lot more like a cross bewteen Duthie Bootcamp and East Tiger Summit - generally very buff, fast and flowing. Not technical, but a few interesting diversions along the trail. Eventually, the trail levels out into a rolling slope, before eventually resuming the ascent. I ran out of time at about the 5th road crossing, and then flipped a bunch of switches for the largely pedal-free descent back to the car. The descent was pretty awesome and fun. As for the concern about it being a 2-way trail, definitely be prepared for the fact that you will not be able to make an uninterrupted descent; even on a Tuesday mid-morning, there was a moderate amount of traffic coming uphill as I was going down. That said, the excellent sightlines and wide corridor make passing pretty non-contentious.
Routefinding is a non-issue; there is basically only the 1 trail and the road crossings are obvious. Definitely will be coming back to get the whole loop in.
