Under Rated Ride
Did the point-to-point shuttle up road 8500-8440. Such an great ride! Trail was in mint condition, super duffy with needles and ultra-narrow singletrack. This is a stunningly fun and gorgeious ride, I can't believe more people don't do it. Even the point-point version is a fairly physical ride with plenty of punchy climbs and several short bits of hike-a-bike with that one crappy, sandy, steep push (it's only a couple hundred yards). We didn't see another person on the trail even on Labor Day. I think this is my new favorite ride somewhat close to Seattle.
The road shuttle up was easy - several parts were partially washed out, but easy to get through and you could have gotten up here even in a passenger car if you're a confident driver. Just be careful on the paved part, there's a few holes and dips that can catch you off guard that you need to go really slow through.
