Darrington - North Mountain Skills Area
A joint project between Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, Washington DNR, and the town of Darrington, WA, the Darrington MTB Project is the first of its kind in the region — a community-backed youth-focused bike skills area and trails built to increase ride potential on legal, sustainable trails for mountain bikers.
The lower mountain project consists of a skills area and higher density stacked-loop trails focused built for youth, families and skills development. Ranging from green beginner trails through black-diamond levels, these trails will cater to riders seeking both XC- and descending routes. The approved plans incorporate a progressive design to allow riders to move to more difficult trails at their own pace.
Evergreen trail crews in conjunction with DNR, Darrington city members, and youth trail builders (including AmeriCorps, Washington Conservation Corps, and students from the Glacier Peak Institute) completed the lower mountain trails in the summer of 2017.
