Lewis River
Info
Lewis River Trail is a classic river trail: heavily forested, shady, rolling, and more of a workout than the map suggests. It's not as gnarly as Skookum Flats, not as developed as the lower part of the Mid Fork trail. This is a fabulous trail, mostly very smooth & buff, and a common second day option after doing Ape Canyon and/or Smith Creek on day 1. It's 11 miles one-way; you can return on paved Forest Road 90 which runs parallel if you don't want to do 22 miles of trail.

From the campground down to Curly Creek Rd the trail is the best I've seen it. No washouts, new rebuilds, running smooth. Don't forget to go swimming.
There is one washout between the campground and the middle falls but just follow the flagging and it will detour you up and back dow...
Only a little dry in some places. Importantly, the ridiculously steep temporary reroute is now gone and the new reroute looks and rides awesome! All the big blowdowns in trecherous sections are gone as well. The trail looks really good!
BLUF: Fun all day trail on a nice day.
25.4 miles with 2,956 ft total elevation gain. Parked at the south end of Trial #31 and rode towards the falls. Trails dry, rolling with a few steep climbs and steep descent. I allowed 5 hours total ride time and found myself bypass...
