Summary of Position
Evergreen Mountain Bike Dirt Camps offer youth ages 4 to 16 exciting opportunities to develop their mountain biking skills. Campers will learn everything from basic bike mechanics and how to fix flats, to mastering singletrack techniques and understanding trail maintenance. We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate coaches who are eager to share their love of the sport with the next generation of riders. In this role, you will assist lead coaches in delivering safe, engaging, and fun daily programs and lessons that inspire and empower campers.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate needs to be passionate about Evergreen’s mission and vision to make Washington State the best place to ride. We are looking for someone with a professional and safe demeanor. The candidate must be comfortable working as a team, delivering mountain bike instruction, and communicating with parents, fellow coaches, students, and other park users. Reliable transportation is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations and logistics for coaches and campers, ensuring efficient and organized program delivery.
- Act as the primary liaison between coaching staff, Evergreen administration, and trail-building teams to maintain clear and consistent communication.
- Provide professional customer service to parents, guardians, and other trail users, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Lead and mentor coaching staff to deliver youth mountain biking safety and skills instruction effectively.
- Enforce Dirt Camp policies and procedures while fostering a positive, collaborative work environment among staff.
- Ensure timely completion of administrative tasks, including paperwork, and adherence to Evergreen’s established curriculum and standards.
- Demonstrate and promote safe, responsible, and professional behavior as a role model for campers and staff.
- Address challenges with proactive problem-solving and innovative solutions.
- Perform routine bike maintenance and minor repairs to ensure safe and functional equipment.
- Promote enthusiasm and engagement by fostering a fun and energetic atmosphere for campers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Great communication skills & a personable and positive attitude.
- Experience teaching mountain biking and/or youth outdoor recreation.
- Experience mentoring or supervising staff.
- Mountain biking experience is required, but you do not need to be an expert rider.
- Ability and stamina to ride continuously for 30-45 minutes at a time over 6 hours.

Employment Requirements
- 18 years or older.
- 2-years minimum of mountain bike experience.
- 2-years of teaching and coaching.
- Advanced camp coaching will require a secondary interview “on-bike” and advanced training.
- Attend Evergreen’s Youth Bike Camp Instructor Training in the Spring.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings & weekend days if the job requires.
- Current First Aid or CPR certification. Evergreen will provide this certification/recertification within the first three months of hire.
- A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and reliable personal transportation.
- Candidates will be subject to a background check. Any issues that surfaced will be managed on a case-by-case basis..

Work Schedule
Season Dates: Mid-June 2025 through August 29th, 2025
Hours vary by location, but anticipate 25-40 hrs per week, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
Compensation
Starting at $20 per hour
