Working at Evergreen

The ideal candidate will share a commitment to Washington State's mountain biking community and trails and believe in Evergreen's mission to make Washington the best place to ride.

The Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance was originally formed over 30 years ago in response to the need for rider advocacy and trails in the Seattle area. Now a statewide organization, we continue to rely on our volunteer trail builders and chapter leaders to deliver our organization's mission and vision, with the administrative team supporting that work. Our workplace is mostly hybrid, with an office in North Bend, WA. The team culture is centered around cross-departmental collaboration, effective communication, diligence and dedication, and maintaining a healthy balance of life and professional priorities. We are also a team of avid riders, outdoor recreationists, and lovers of our wild places.

Key Responsibilities

Community & Event Engagement

  • Oversee and manage key community chapter events like Spring Fling, Shovel & Shred, Tiger Passport Ride, Duthie Jam, trail openings, and high donor appreciation events.
  • Assist the Statewide Admin team with coordination, logistics, and staffing for statewide events, including the Evergreen Mountain Bike Festival, Member Meeting, Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day, and more.
  • Attend key meetings within the CTS Chapter, including board meetings, trail committee sessions, and other significant community-led events.
  • Oversee CTS social media channels, schedule content, and work with the chapter and volunteers in content sourcing.
  • Collaborate and guide the chapter in generating and maintaining content on the CTS Evergreen website and social media platforms, as well as writing, formatting, and building newsletters and blog posts for chapter and statewide distribution.
  • Support chapter responses or delegate responses to general questions received via Chapter email, website, and/or social media inquiries.
  • Play a key role in the chapter and statewide fundraising campaigns by generating content, increasing reach, and harnessing additional donations.
  • Lead the Ambassador program, including budgeting, recruitment, event planning, and scheduling of approximately 10 individuals.

Chapter Operations Support

  • Assist the Cascades to Sound Chapter in the development of annual work plans, calendars, and budgets.
  • Provide administrative and agenda planning assistance to chapter board meetings, including preparing status updates/presentations and/or providing campaign and event planning updates.
  • Collaborate with Evergreen Statewide staff on chapter logistics, operations, and events to oversee all chapter work.
  • Collaborate with the CTS Chapter board to schedule field events, ensure volunteer & staff attendance, and document results.
  • Play a supporting role in all print and digital chapter marketing and promotional efforts.

Ideal Candidate
You are deeply passionate about Evergreen’s mission and vision and committed to fostering equity within the organization and the broader community. As a natural extrovert, you thrive in engaging with volunteers and the riding community, particularly in the Seattle area.

You are also:

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about implementing and documenting new operational and administrative procedures.
  • Experienced in collaborating and communicating with staff and volunteers to achieve shared goals.
  • Skilled in customer service and interpersonal communication, with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Adaptable and quick to learn new technology and tasks independently.
  • A collaborative team player who can manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualification

  • At least two years of experience in event production, with a proven ability to assist in planning, coordinating, and executing successful events.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with volunteers and community members, fostering positive relationships and collaboration.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable personal transportation, and willingness to travel to various worksites across the Seattle region.
  • Resident of Washington State.
  • Candidates will be subject to a background check. Any issues that surface will be managed on a case-by-case basis.
