Come join Evergreen East in Hillyard for Celebrate Trails Day and the grand opening of Hillyard Bicycle! We'll meet in Hillyard in the morning and ride out to Beacon Hill, and then return to Hillyard by noon for more Celebrate Trails Day events.

We'll start the day with a group ride leaving from Hillyard Bicycle (5002 North Market). Plan to meet at 9:30am and we'll start our ride over to Beacon by 10am. Our route to Beacon will be on Children of the Sun Trail and over to Minnehaha Park, where we'll take the newly completed Mineral Springs trail up to Esmerelda and then to the towers. From there, we'll pick some trails to ride depending on rider skill level and we'll plan on being back to Hillyard before noon. This loop will be at least 8 miles and is open to all riders.

From 12-2pm, we'll be back in Hillyard for more Celebrate Trails Day events. Celebrate Trails Day is an annual spring celebration of America’s trails, started by Rails to Trails Conservancy in 2013 to highlight the importance of the 42,000+ miles of multiuse trails on the ground nationwide. The City of Spokane will have presentation and discussions on Children of the Sun Trail and our other multiuse trails in Spokane and there will be a family friendly ride and walk along the trail -- for more information see here.
