Hansen Ridge Work Party - Brushing

I'm going to be clearing Hansen Ridge on July 1st and I'd love some help. It's mostly those annoying alders that grow into the trail. The best tool is loppers, I bring those short-ish loppers with the gear because they are easy to carry on the bike and have a lot of power for the size. Most of the trees are around 1" to 1.5". Any other brushing tools would be helpful as well for the smaller growth encroaching on the trail, but the priority is to clear the alders and make a rideable path to the lake.

The plan is to ride to the lake, cutting a path as we go along. I'd like to punch through to the lake as fast as possible just to make the trail rideable, and then if time allows widen the path on the way back to make the trail more comfortably rideable for the rest of summer. This plan is flexible based on how many people we have.

Plan is to meet at the parking lot at 9:30am and go from there. I also recommend reading the Hansen Ridge trail description before signing up if you haven't been there, it's kind of a challenging ride. It's much too far to hike in, so plan to carry tools on your pack or bike.

The work party will be rescheduled in the event of a heat wave or forest fire.
