Skookum Flats/White River loop ride

Spring is here & things are warming up, so join us for a social-paced ride at Skookum Flats!  Meet at 9:00 am at Camp Sheppard and plan to start the ride about 9:15. This is a moderately technical route with some challenging roots & rocks, including a short hike a bike rocky section that requires you to be able to carry your bike up.  We'll start at Camp Sheppard (NW Forest Pass required for parking) https://goo.gl/maps/anKk74uBwppk62417 and bike the White River trail south to & cross the highway to NF-7160 & then take a right on Skookum Flats & enjoy the scenery.  Plan to take some photo breaks & bring a lunch.  If people are interested we can park the bikes & do a short hike up to view Skookum Falls, then continue north to the end of the trail at NF-7300 and then take a right on the Dalles River trail with views of the White River & a huge stump that's hundreds of years old.  Then we'll bike through the Dalles campground & take NF-7150 for a gravel loop,then head south & take the Palisades trail to the White River junction & back to Camp Sheppard.  Please RSVP so we know you're coming, and make sure to include emergency contact info.  Cell reception is spotty in this area.  The route is about 12 miles total, 1500 feet of climbing.  Make sure to bring warm clothes & rain gear just in case.
