It’s Trail Tuesday featuring Yellow Jacket, a winter-friendly fat biking trail in Squilchuck State Park in the Central Chapter.

Difficulty level: Easy/Intermediate

Mileage: 1.2 miles

Description: This flowy singletrack trail is fun in the summer AND the winter! That's right, it's now completely under snow and groomed regularly for winter fat biking. Grooming at Squilchuck State Park is provided by volunteers of Evergreen in cooperation with Washington State Parks, and is done as schedules and conditions allow. You can ride Yellow Jacket as part of a longer loop connecting to other trails within the Squilchuck trail system.

Fun fact: The machine used to groom is called a Snowdog. "It's the only thing that can make the tight turns and work in the narrow single track." - Michael McLane, Eastern WA Trails Program Manager
