If you've been out on the trails or at any of our events this summer, there is a good chance you've run into one of the Cascades to Sounds' new Ambassadors!

From tenting and providing y'all with the info you're looking for on Evergreen and the trails to leading group rides, creating content, managing work parties, capturing FPV footage, and even DJing at events, these folks are doing it all!

MAIKI and ASHLEY

You might spot Maiki (a welder/fabricator from Puerto Rico), Ashley (a radio disc jockey from Snohomish, WA), and their kids arriving in a Japanese fire truck at the local trails! This dynamic family thrives on adventure and loves sharing meals and good times with family and friends. Whether Maiki and Ashley are racing through rugged terrains or helping build and maintain trails, they share their enthusiasm for life on and off the trail! They look forward to continue creating memorable moments, and they hope to see you out there!

DAVE CLAYTON

Dave Clayton moved to Seattle in 2016 and quickly fell in love with the PNW.  His main passions are MTB, Rock Climbing, and Music.  Dave thinks climbing to the descent is part of the fun, is all about learning more technical and jumping skills, and likes to help mentor people new to the sport.  DJing Evergreen events is a great way he combines his passions while contributing to and honoring the work everyone does for these trails.

LYLE G.

Lyle started riding bikes when he started walking! Now 11 years old, you can find him rippin' various styles, from BMX racing and dirt jumping to enduro and downhill racing (and as of recently, he's taken a liking to dirt biking). What Lyle enjoys about riding bikes the most, besides the thrill and adrenaline, is sharing the experience with the like-minded friends he makes along the way and the journey he and his family share together. Lyle is stoked to be an EMBA Ambassador and help other enthusiastic riders find community too!

JAY GORE

Jay has been an avid mountain biker for decades and got into trail building with his son as part of a junior downhill team over ten years ago before Duthie was even open. The bug stuck, and Jay's involvement with trail building progressed to helping on the Predator build, where he was able to learn from the Evergreen masters. Jay has been involved in building and maintaining the networks at Tiger, Raging, and Tokul ever since and is passionate about providing opportunities for people to enjoy being outdoors and giving back to the sport we all love.

JARETT GRIMM

Born and raised on Bainbridge Island, Jarett bought his first full-suspension mountain bike in 2021, spending the first few months riding Port Gamble. After a chance encounter with an Evergreen volunteer while riding the trail "The Hood," and since his job provides volunteer paid time off, he decided to start dedicating time to giving back to the trails. Jarett's trail work has ranged from brushing parties in the backcountry to rebuilds at Duthie, helping build new trails in the Phase 3 Raging River expansion, and even some work parties at Port Gamble.

Moving to Seattle in 2021, Jarett can now typically be found riding Raging or Tiger anytime he isn't at work or skiing. For Jarett, riding bikes is an intrinsically rewarding activity, but the community aspect of this sport is what sets it apart. The level of stoke felt after cleaning a new trail or feature or crushing a climb, and sharing that with those you are riding with is an incredible feeling. With an opportunity to build that community up through group rides and trail-building efforts, Jarett is excited to get to work as an Evergreen Ambassador!

VINCE HAAG

Vince was born and raised in Montana where his youth was misspent riding BMX bikes.  Cars, college, and life got in the way till he rediscovered cycling in the PNW in 1986. Vince's first ride on his first mountain bike was at Tiger Mountain that year. Thirty some odd years and a career at Boeing later, Tiger Mountain is still his favorite place to ride. You'll likely find him there several times a week, usually midweek, taking advantage of the retirement lifestyle.  Vince has raced MTBs in XC, endurance and stage racing for many years but now enjoys not having to worry so much about training and just enjoying riding down trails too fast and talking with people.

ERIK HUMPHREY

When the pandemic started in 2020, Erik, like many others, was looking for a way to get outside and recreate while still maintaining social distance. Fortunately for Erik, Black Diamond Open Space is within a few minutes ride of where he lives. Having walked the trails just months earlier, Erik decided to grab his 20-year-old bike and see what mountain biking was all about. A few upgraded bikes later, you can now catch him riding from Bellingham to Port Gamble and even breaking out an FPV Drone to catch some rad footage of other riders.

When Erik isn't riding bikes, he is practicing his drone skills or hiking with his wife, two daughters, and dogs. He also owns an accounting office in Black Diamond and frequently contributes time or funds to the various community organizations in the area.

ZANDER KROON

Born and raised in the Midwest, Zander developed a love for the outdoors at an early age. That love transitioned into a career as an outdoor cinematographer. Zander's extensive film career has taken him all over the US. He has lived and worked in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Bozeman, but it was during a particularly memorable van life journey full of adventure and self-exploration that Zander fell in love with the PNW and made the decision to plant roots in the vibrant Seattle region.

As of this summer, Zander has been living in North Bend for two years. As an avid mountain biker, artist, and someone who loves to work with their hands, Zander has regularly volunteered with Evergreen to build new trails and maintain existing ones in the region. Now, as an Evergreen Ambassador, Zander can't wait to lead a rebuild on the historic and loved "Gravy Train" at Duthie.

ALEX MOSS

Alex began mountain biking in her home state of Indiana over a decade ago, where, as a beginner, she found the rolling hills of Brown County State Park daunting. Since moving to Washington State in 2015, Alex has leveled up exponentially, and now delights in the challenges of the advanced slopes of PNW mountains! Here, she has truly fallen in love with mountain biking and the Evergreen community.

During her work as an Evergreen volunteer, Alex has dedicated many hours to trail building and maintenance. You can find her with a drink in hand, a smile on her face, and her portable speaker kicking it with some tasty grooves for the team! Alex takes pride in being one half of an Evergreen MTB Alliance "power couple," as her husband Ryan also volunteers as a mountain bike instructor!

With a personal and professional background in fitness and athletics, Alex is passionate about discovering friendship and community through the shared joy of moving our bodies. Evergreen is powered by our diverse and enthusiastic members, and she is excited to begin contributing to the organization by increasing community engagement as a Social Media Ambassador.

 ALESSANDRO PRESTERO

Born in Massachusetts, Alessandro Prestero grew up in Sammamish and spends his time outside skiing, hiking, and mountain biking. He spends a good portion of that time at Duthie Hill, learning new tricks and riding jumps. Rumor has it you can even find him dormant in the winters under the Flying Squirrel roll-in.

Alessandro has spent the last 5 years bringing new riders into the sport as a coach and is stoked to be working with the rest of the Evergreen team on its mission to grow mountain biking in Washington state.

HOLLY ROA

Holly is in the early stages of her mountain biking journey and is stoked about gaining skills and confidence and realizing that things that used to be scary aren't as scary anymore. She is thrilled to represent Evergreen and help foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for folks of all skill levels while promoting stewardship and ownership of the trails we love.

Away from montainbiking, Holly works as a freelance photgrapger and behind the scenes at Filson, where she helps their visual story unfold.

Also, Holly  definitely wants to pet your dog 😀!

MIRANDA SMITH

Miranda is a Tucson, Arizona, native who made her way to the PNW in May 2023 and fell in love with all things mountain biking. She first learned about Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance from social media shortly after moving to Seattle and decided to attend her first Evergreen dig day a few months later. From there, Miranda couldn't get enough and wanted to learn the ins and outs of trail building. When she's not working her day job in corporate communications, you can find her riding bikes with @donutsquadmtb, digging at Raging River, Duthie, and Tiger, or hanging out in Seattle with her dog, Pepper.
