It’s confession time: since our projects were approved, we’ve known that the most cost effective path would be to purchase two excavators, but never dreamed it would be possible. But because of your incredible support for Washington MTB trails, we’re able to announce that Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance is going to purchase two excavators!  Donate here to help make that happen!

Why Two?

Really, it comes down to savings. We’ve run the numbers and it’s become clear that buying a second excavator is the financially smart thing for Evergreen to do. Over the next two years we’ll have 5 excavators running at times, and despite the great rental rates we get through the US Communities Program from our partners at Hertz, it’s more cost effective for us to actually own two machines.  Not only that, but by purchasing a second machine we get a discount, easier maintenance and common spare parts. 

We plan to put approximately $40,000 of the $75,500 total down and cover the balance with two-year financing.  Any funds we raise beyond $20,000 will increase the down payment and decrease our monthly payment.
