Paradise Valley Work Party - Easter Edition! Sunday, April 20th - 9:00 AM
Crew leader: Brian Location: Paradise Valley
We are building a new trail between WP21 and WP23 - see the map below.

We will meet at the NE 205th St. entrance. NOTE: This is NOT the main parking lot at Paradise:

When parking, please don't block driveways or mailboxes - we like to be good neighbors!

View Paradise Valley NE 205th St. Entrance in a larger map

Look for my Red F250 at the trailhead. We will leave from the trailhead at 9:00 sharp, if you are late walk into the park go straight through the first intersection at the second intersection turn left onto Two Trees trail and when you see the intersection with the Ephemeral trail keep walking on Two-Trees (the old trail to your right, not the re-route)and you'll hear us working off to you right.

No trail work experience is needed - we love having new people come out and we will be happy to show you the basics of trail maintenance.

What to bring:
1. Shovel, McLeod, Grub Hoe. I'll have a few extra tools, if you don't have anything just show up and we will figure something out.
2. Gloves and sturdy shoes.
3. Something to drink and a snack to eat.

We usually work for 4-5 hours, but you should feel free to work for as short or as long as you can. Any help is appreciated! Questions? Drop me an email!

Pipeline Trail Re-route in St. Edward State Park Sunday, April 27th - 10:00 AM
Crew leader: Tom Location: Saint Edward State Park
This is the first major trail project in St. Edward State Park in quite a few years. The problem: a 500-foot-long fall line trail is developing a major washout at the bottom. Because this has become chronic issue, Mark Garnick has master-minded a two-phase project to resolve it once and for all, and we have the enthusiastic support of Ranger Mo. First phase will be a major contour-following re-route that will result in a much more sustainable grade for both foot and bike traffic, and completely remove trail traffic from the washout area. This phase will take at least 3 work parties to clear and bench the alignment, grade and armor switchbacks, manage drainage, etc. (More about the second phase later. :-) ) If you have trail-building skills, this will be a great chance to use them; if you don't, this will be a great chance to learn them!
