Ever wonder what the DH buzz is about? Have you been wanting to check out the Whistler scene but are intimidated? Sign-up for our new Intro to Downhill series and become addicted! This series of 4 classes will get you started on your new gravity-fed obsession. We'll teach you all the basics you’ll need to feed the beast. Three classes will be local with the Evergreen IMIC Certified Instructors and the final class will be at Stevens Pass with DH World Champion, Shaums March! Don’t miss the opportunity to be coached by a true downhill champ and world-class coach!
This series is designed for the solid intermediate rider who is new(ish) to the DH scene. This class is NOT appropriate for the beginner rider! Ages 15 and up.
Local classes: Tuesdays - 3hrs. July 24, 31, Aug 7. Locations vary. The first class will be at Duthie Hill Park in Issaquah.
Stevens Pass: Sunday, August 12th. Full day.
This series will be taught by Mike, Tyler, Nick, Michael, Cameron, Ross and Debbi
QUALIFICATIONS: To participate in this series you must either meet the qualifications listed below, or have similar abilities/experience. Please email the instructors if you have questions.
Riding: min. 2yrs of solid riding
Local Trails: Tokul West, Tokul E. - Last Frontier
Whistler: B-Line, Crank It Up, Heart of Darkness, Ho Chi Min
Duthie: Boot Camp, Ryan's, Step-It-Up, 2-Hi
Skills: technical trails without getting off the bike much, can do small drops (1’) easily, comfortable lifting your front wheel over obstacles

For those with more DH experience under their belts that want a little fine tuning, there is the option to participate in the 1-day clinic with Shaums March at Stevens Pass on August 12th. About your instructors:
Shaums March two-time master World Champion and Red Bull Rampage competitor has been committed to perfecting the International Mountain Bike Instructor Certifications (IMIC) skill process which has been tested and proven methodology since 2001 while being at the forefront of the industry for standards. He is renowned for being a dedicated, accomplished coach, phenomenal rider, and all around personable guy who helps riders reach their goals and become more confident with their bike handling skills.
Evergreen instructors are professionally trained and certified through the IMIC program. Our instructors are a diverse group of experienced, trained riders that are passionate about mountain biking and are excited to pass on their hard-earned knowledge to both new and seasoned riders.

Cost: $230 for Evergreen members. Price includes lift ticket and lunch for August 12th. Stevens is offering discounted rental equipment on August 12th for clinic participants.
Non-members must purchase an Evergreen membership. An individual membership is $30/yr and an annual family membership is $50/yr. To become an Evergreen member either go to our membership page or there is the option to purchase a membership during the registration process at BikeReg.com. (see below)

**IMPORTANT: If you have not registered through BikeReg.com then you are not registered for this series. If you go to BikeReg and it won't let you register it means the class is full. Email the instructor to be added to a wait list.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING? Please have your bikes in good working order. Helmets are mandatory. Body protection, such as knee, shin, and elbow guards and full-fingered gloves are recommended. Full face helmets are optional but not recommended for the first class. Dress appropriately for the weather. Make sure to have some water and a snack.
**Flat pedals are required for this series.
For the first class we will meet in the clearing at Duthie. Please arrive 30 minutes early so we can do a quick bike check and start class promptly at 6pm.
**Parents must fill-out and sign a waiver for those under 18. Parents/guardians must arrange for transportation to/from the classes and clinic on August 12th. Evergreen cannot provide transportation.
Class will be canceled if there is heavy rain, high wind, or temperatures below freezing. If there is rain or stormy weather, please check the website and/or your email the day of the class to see if the class has been cancelled.
**Classes are non-refundable. Cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to the first scheduled class start time. To cancel, please notify the lead instructor by clicking on the name in the upper left hand corner of the page.
PARKING FOR CLASS: You can either park in the Duthie Lot, which is very small, or at Cascade Ridge Elementary School at 2020 Trossachs Blvd, Sammamish, WA 98075. Please do not park along Duthie Hill Road, Issaquah-Fall City Road or in the surrounding neighborhoods.
