Lot's of climbing (about 2,100 ft) but that's not my goal! Session stunts and enjoy the hot weather in the forest.

Come on out and enjoy some remarkable trails in the REAL Eastern Washington. This year we'll be reaching across to a broader region inviting riders from in and out of the state. Our primary purpose, to enjoy some unique beautiful terrain, and some rippin singletrack. With a higher purpose of bringing new riders to an area where access to mountain bikers is threatened. This ride is for intermediate and more advanced riders - the terrain is steep and there are some technical sections. It is likely that this ride will end up as a social event at the Last Frontier after the ride. Some of these trails are challenging and some people prefer to wear knee and elbow protection here. www.speedybeaverracing.com Directions: From Seattle take I-90 East to the Preston Exit, turn left at the stopsign and cross the freeway and then take an immediate right on High Point Way. High Point turns into Preston-Fall City Rd, and continue on this for about 4 miles. At Fall City you will hit a stop sign and turn right here onto Hwy 202 (also called SE Fall City-Snoqualmie Rd). I'm going to be camping on the peninsula and want to hit one of my all-time favorite rides on the way home. If you're up for 17 miles of singletrack, some hike-a-bike, some exposure, and some super fast descending, then come along. The ride has roughly 3500 feet of elevation gain and will take roughly 4 hours to complete at a socially-moderate pace. We're not going to hammer and nobody will be left behind, but this is not a ride for beginners or for those without adequate conditioning.

The directions on the Trail Wiki are accurate and up-to-date. Sign up, work out your ferry/carpool arrangements, and meet me at the trailhead by 11am.

Build like a Girl!-with LunaChix at Duthie Tuesday, July 21st - 4:00 PM
Crew leader: Fredrika Location: Duthie Hill
At Duthie Hill Mountain Bike Park, Team LunaChix is taking on the one of the freeride lines and we’d like you to come along. We will learn together: to bench the trail, design the flow, and build the features for a jump line for riders who want to begin adding freeriding elements to their repertoire.

If we build it, they will come! In a series of work parties, we’ll have fun and make a positive and lasting addition to this fantastic mountain bike park, in progress, near Issaquah. Plus, think of how much you’ll learn about jumping as we tweak the design to make the jumps smoother or more challenging.

We'll be there from 4 until dusk. Come for the whole time or for however long you can- for one work party or all 3 that are scheduled: 5/30, 6/28, and 7/21.

LUNA Ladies Riding Tokul E or W Wednesday, July 22nd - 6:00 PM
Ride leader: Kathy Location: Tokul East
Hey Ladies. We're hitting another new trail this week. Lets meet at the Tokul E parking lot. From here we can break into two groups. One group will head over to Tokul W and the other group will hit Tokul E.

Tokul W is a steady climb up followed by some fast, flowy, fun descents. Terrain is not too technical, but you do need good fitness for the climbing portion.

Tokul E is very different. They are some of my favorite trails in the area. Its a good climb up followed by very steep, fast descents with the occasional jump or drop. This ride is technical due to the steepness of the terrain. (During the summer months the dirt can be very loose too.)

Meet at 6pm and be ready to roll soon afterwards. Be sure to park at the Tokul E parking lot: At Fall City turn right onto Hwy 202 (also called SE Fall City-Snoqualmie Rd). Continue on 202 for about 1 mile and turn left 356th Dr SE. Go up the hill for 1/3 mile and park in the trailhead lot on your left. Feel free to contact me with questions.

Thorp Mountain Deathmarch Saturday, August 1st - 9:00 AM
Ride leader: Preston Location: Kachess
Ever wondered about the ridge up and beyond Kachess ? We will celebrate the FS finally updating their website to show LIttle Kachess lake open to bikes. This trail is a little 5 mile gem in it's own right. Then we'll do a bit of road climbing and head "down" No Name ridge from the north. The good: Mountain views, lake swimming, incredible viewpoint, technical challenges and fast awesome singletrack. Thorp Mt lookout makes you feel like you could jump off and dive into glacier blue Lake Kachess. Thorp lake has a big rock face for jumping in. The ride finishes off with the Kachess Ridge descent ! The bad: There is some dirt road in the middle of the ride. 4 miles of it. And the ridge is kind of nasty with some serious climbs including a bit of hiking, and several times the elevation gained is quickly squandered skating down sharp scree slopes or ripping fast open sight line trail. Also, we really need to shuttle about 6 easy miles along I90, so logistics are a challenge. If we are weak there is a longer shuttle possibility too. You should be confident in your fitness level and backcountry experience - I would say the level of effort is below that of Icicle Ridge so if you can do that ride you'll be fine. In fact, last time Jim Neff's little Toto like terrier came along, so geez, you can out ride a little doggie can't you ? Ok, the dog did get some shuttle time in Jim's backpack. Expect to be out about 8 hours. A truly epic mountain ride right in our backyard 70 minutes of Seattle. Think of all the gas you'll save !

Evergreen Mountain Bike Bootcamp Level 2 Wednesday, August 5th - 6:00 PM
Lead instructor: Ed Location: Saint Edward State Park
This class will pick-up where the Basic Bootcamp class left off, with a continued focus on the core skills presented in the initial Boot Camp. Level 2’s format involves more ride time and is designed to refine core skills and expand on individual needs of students. The class will ride a specific set of loops in the park and utilize planned features as “sessions” or do-overs (where we ride repeatedly to practice a skill). Students can request specific skill to work on, either at the beginning of the class, or on the trail as we encounter different features.
