Evergreen's Executive Director Follows a New Path

Dear Evergreen members and interested parties,

It is with great regret that I announce that Jon Kennedy has decided to move on from his position as Executive Director of Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance. Jon has diligently dedicated the last 5 years to this organization. We are sorry to see him leave this position, and appreciate all the work that he has done.

During his tenure with Evergreen, Jon has helped the organization function in many ways. Jon started with us in 2005 as a part time Volunteer Director and was quickly thrust into various roles based on the growing need of the organization. Jon willingly accepted these challenges and brought forth great effort and a real passion for the cause. Jon’s natural ability to connect with others was evident from the start and he grew tremendously within the various positions to become a great advocate, Director and leader within the Mountain Bike community.

Jon’s lead in helping Evergreen to establish valued and sustainable relationships with various agencies through his work with the WA DNR Sustainability Work Group, the Reiter Forest Planning Committee and an appointment to the Snoqualmie Unit Advisory Committee have been key to our success. Jon has also worked with the Mountains to Sound Greenway, King County, Seattle Parks, and local user groups just to name a few.

The Board of Directors is actively working on a plan for the immediate and long term management of day to day operations. We have some critical decisions to make about how we're going to allocate our resources and prioritize our obligations, but please rest assured that we plan to honor our commitments, and continue to execute on our goals and mission.

Jon is committed to working closely with Evergreen regardless of his status as a staff member and for that we are thankful. Jon will slowly transition out of his role of ED but will effectively begin working at his new job as of March 1st.

It is with great enthusiasm that I wish Jon a farewell and the best of luck with his new position. We look forward to continuing to work with Jon in his new role.

Thank you.

Scott Edison
